Taxes must be paid by the specified due date. If payment is not made by that date, additional charges will apply. If you remain delinquent after being sent an overdue payment notice (TOKUSOKUJŌ), an investigation may be conducted at your workplace or home, and assets such as salary, savings, land, or vehicles may be subject to seizure.

Where to Pay Taxes

You can make the payment using a payment slip (NŌFUSHO) at banks, post offices, convenience stores, municipal tax offices, ward offices and branches, or citizen service counters.
