         Description: |

This mounded tomb measures 5.9 meters tall and 35 meters in diameter. It is the largest remaining round burial mound in Saitama City. Past archaeological surveys unearthed “magatama” beads and a vast number of cylindrical “haniwa” statues from the horseshoe-shaped moat that surrounds the tomb. Surveyors also excavated items like cylindrical haniwa, human-shaped haniwa, and swords from the nearby playground. This mounded tomb is thought to have been constructed in the mid-6th century. |
