Description: |
The Hikawa-sando Approach is a nearly 2-kilometer-long, tree-lined avenue that stretches north from the Ichi-no-Torii Gate all the way to Hikawa-jinja Shrine. The approach is lined with broadleaf evergreens and deciduous trees representative of the Musashi region, with the Japanese zelkova (Zelkova serrata) taking center stage. Of these trees, those that measured 2 meters or more in trunk circumference at the time of designation were recognized as natural monuments. |
