This Japanese yew (Taxus cuspidata var. nana) is located on the left-hand side of the main temple building’s front garden. It stood 2.3 meters tall at the time of designation and had a base circumference of 0.63 meters. The tree lacks a primary trunk and is instead comprised of many reaching branches. Its canopy spreads like a heavy cloud, creating a sense of stability in its form. |
