         Description: |

This shamisen was made in the Edo period. It was created by one of eleven generations of renowned shamisen makers who bore the title “Ishimura Omi”. The title “Ko-omi” indicates that this instrument was made by one of the earlier Ishimura Omis. The shamisen is 96 cm long. A “kocho” (butterfly) model, it has a comprehensive note of authentication on the box that details its pedigree. |
