Description: |
This cloud-footed, double-layered shelf dates from the Edo period (1603-1868). It is decorated with gold embossed patterns on a black lacquer base using a technique called “takamakie”. It stands 59.3 cm high, 44 cm wide, and 34.8 cm deep. The fittings on the corners are all lacquer. |
