Description: |
This Japanese evergreen oak (Quercus acuta) was 20 meters tall and 5 meters in circumference at the time of designation. The thick trunk and hard, strong, spreading roots are splendid. They exemplify the magnificence of ancient trees. In the past, this tree was one of many in a grove that surrounded a residence. In 2003 it was awarded the 3rd Saitama City Scenery Cooperation Award as a specimen tree for a housing complex. |
